Position Overview:
This pivotal role operates at the facility level, reporting directly to the Plant Environmental Manager. It involves hands-on management of environmental responsibilities and the execution of corporate strategies tailored to local operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations in support of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) and related facility procedures.
  • Provide performance reports on the EMS to the Plant Manager for management reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate adequate environmental training as necessary.
  • Maintain and manage environmental records as required.
  • Stay informed about applicable permits and regulations, conducting inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Collect, maintain, and timely transmit all required environmental compliance monitoring data.
  • Analyze and trend environmental performance data.
  • Participate in compliance assurance and EMS auditing programs, conducting routine informal inspections to monitor real-time compliance.
  • Support corporate sustainability efforts, including permitting, reporting, and data management.
  • Manage relationships with environmental contractors.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related scientific field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a regulatory compliance capacity.
Preferred Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in:
  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, solid and hazardous waste management, and corrective action planning.
  • Clean Air Act, Title V, Risk Management Plan.
  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Licensing and remediation of naturally occurring radioactive materials.
  • Groundwater monitoring and corrective actions.
  • Clean Water Act, wastewater management, permitting, and minimization.
  • Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, TRI.
  • Collaboration with state and federal regulatory officials, managing consent decrees and special agreements.
  • Spill Prevention, Countermeasures, and Controls program.
  • Stormwater management.
