Faculty Position in Physiology

The Department of Physiology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in all areas of modern physiology. We seek candidates who will contribute to the department's excellence in biophysics, membrane transport, neuroscience, cardiovascular research, and structural biology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program and participate in the teaching mission of the department for medical, dental, and graduate students.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain an active research program in modern physiology, with a strong track record of research achievements and a demonstrated interest in tackling outstanding biological problems using state-of-the-art approaches. Participate in the teaching mission of the department, including teaching medical, dental, and graduate students. Contribute to the department's commitment to diversity and excellence. Collaborate with colleagues to advance the department's research and teaching goals.
Requirements
Ph.D. and/or M.D. (or equivalent) in hand at time of appointment. Demonstrated scholarly achievement. Strong track record of research achievements and a demonstrated interest in tackling outstanding biological problems using state-of-the-art approaches. Ability to develop and maintain an independent research program. Ability to participate in the teaching mission of the department. Commitment to diversity and excellence.

To implement this process, UCLA requires all applicants for Academic Senate faculty positions to complete, sign, and upload the form entitled "Authorization to Release Information" into RECRUIT as part of their application. If the applicant does not include the signed authorization to release information with the application materials, the application will be considered incomplete. As with any incomplete application, the application will not receive further consideration. Although all applicants for faculty recruitments must complete the entire application, only finalists (i.e., those to whom the department or other hiring unit would like to extend a formal offer) considered for Academic Senate faculty positions will be subject to targeted employment reference checks.
