Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct precise and suitable testing of laboratory specimens in accordance with established protocols.
- Timely reporting of test results following laboratory procedures.
- Adhere to quality control measures and report any inconsistencies to the Medical Technologist II or Director/Supervisor.
- Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment as required.
- Diagnose issues with instruments, equipment, reagents, and specimens, escalating problems as necessary.
- Follow safety protocols and universal precautions as per laboratory and hospital policies.
- Execute phlebotomy procedures as needed for patients.
- Participate in mandatory safety training and understand responsibilities related to safety protocols.
- Exhibit respect and professionalism towards patients, families, visitors, and colleagues to maintain a courteous environment.
- Collaborate effectively within the department and across units to achieve departmental goals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Assist in training new laboratory personnel and students, ensuring they meet competency standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
Required: Associate's degree or higher in Health Services Administration.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree or higher in Health Services Administration.
Licenses & Certifications:
Preferred: Medical Laboratory Technician certification, Medical Technologist certification.
