Key Responsibilities

This role primarily involves engaging with clients to facilitate transactions, manage account openings and closures, address issues, and promote bank products and services. The position is essential in driving business for the bank by upholding a high standard of customer service and directing clients to the appropriate personnel when necessary.

  • Facilitates the opening of various accounts, verifies and processes modifications to existing accounts, addresses client inquiries, and resolves related account issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships by providing a warm welcome, whether in person or over the phone, and delivering prompt and accurate service, including cashing checks, processing deposits and withdrawals, handling loan payments, and managing foreign currency transactions.
  • Assists with safe deposit box operations and performs backup teller duties, ensuring daily cash balancing and accurate transaction processing.
  • Stays informed about relevant banking regulations and security protocols to mitigate fraud risks and comply with legal requirements.
  • Responds to customer inquiries via phone in a timely and professional manner, providing information aligned with bank policies.
  • Handles night depository tasks, including logging deposits and issuing receipts.
  • Promotes bank offerings by identifying customer needs and recommending suitable products and services to enhance account relationships.
  • Actively participates in community events to represent the bank and foster relationships with potential customers.
  • Manages the vault, ensuring daily balance and cash supply for the branch.
  • Maintains inventory of cashier's checks and gift cards, ensuring sufficient stock at all locations.
  • Adheres to Nicolet's policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and enhancing the bank's reputation.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of workplace diversity and collaborates effectively with colleagues from various backgrounds.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service and cash handling experience required.
  • Preferred 2-3 years of experience in teller and personal banking roles.
  • Proficient in PC usage, phone systems, and general office equipment.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Capable of effectively promoting the bank as a preferred financial institution.
  • In-depth understanding of banking roles.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
