Youth Mental Health Professional

We are seeking a qualified Youth Mental Health Professional to join our team as a Family Therapist. In this role, you will provide clinical counseling services to youth and families, including mental health assessments, short and long-term therapy, case management, and crisis intervention.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of youth and families in our community. As a Family Therapist, you will be responsible for providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions and services to clients, including individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
You will also be involved in case consultations, linkage to advocacy, and coordination of services with collateral contacts for assigned clients. Additionally, you will assist in outreach to communities, develop and maintain working knowledge of community resources, and maintain positive relations with community referral sources.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical counseling services to youth and families, including mental health assessments, short and long-term therapy, case management, and crisis intervention.
- Administer mental health assessments, provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
- Provide crisis interventions to clients, as needed.
- Maintain direct service hours at 60% of total weekly work hours.
- Diagnose mental health conditions in accordance with the most recently published DSM, as needed.
- Provide clinical groups focused on a variety of topics.
- Attend weekly/bi-weekly individual meetings with supervisor to review cases.
- Participate in staff case consultations and department meetings.
- Maintain awareness of other Friends of Youth departments and internal resources.
- Improve knowledge about current best practices for various diagnoses and mental health concerns through research.
- Maintain case records in an accurate and timely manner per all WAC, COA, Medicaid, and King County requirements.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of school district policies related to crisis intervention, fire drills, etc.
- Attend school meetings (i.e., student of concern) as necessary.
- Master's Degree in a human service field.
- Licensed with the State of Washington as an LICSW/LSWAIC, LMHC/A or LMFT/A.
- Minimum of 1 year working with children, youth, and/or families.
- Must satisfactorily pass criminal background check, including fingerprints.
- Must satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB) test.
- Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid Washington State driver's license, auto liability insurance, and a safe driving record as defined by Friends of Youth.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (no exemption or waivers).
