Position Overview:

About the Role:
We are looking for a talented Gateway HALO Spacecraft Software Engineer to join our Engineering Division. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in the Human Rated software development life cycle, which includes:
  • Software Management and Oversight
  • Planning and Estimation of Software Releases
  • Testing and Verification of Software
  • Reviewing lower-level software testing and verification
  • Conducting Software Process Assessments
  • Ensuring compliance with NASA requirements
  • Supporting design and system reviews
  • Collaborating with NASA and spacecraft system engineering teams

Key Responsibilities:
You will provide engineering insight and oversight for the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) prime contractor, focusing on assigned subsystems. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinating with the Gateway Subsystem Management team on programmatic requirement changes
  • Monitoring system integration and interface management
  • Maintaining effective communication and collaboration with the NASA customer and support contractors
  • Working in a dynamic, Agile environment
  • Performing additional duties as necessary

Qualifications:
This position may be filled at various levels based on the candidate's experience and business needs. A typical candidate will possess:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related field
  • Approximately 15 years of relevant experience

Technical Experience:
We require candidates to have experience in:
  • Development of space systems requirements documents
  • Leading software development projects
  • Safety Critical Human-Rated Software Development
  • Software Testing and Verification
  • Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • Collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and Jira

Preferred Knowledge:
Familiarity with systems engineering principles and NASA concepts is advantageous, including:
  • Core Flight System Applications
  • Fault Detection and Recovery for Distributed Avionics Architectures
  • Agile software development methodologies
  • C/C++ coding and Linux scripting
