Cafeteria Associate Job Summary

The Cafeteria Associate at Northern Light Health is responsible for providing exceptional food and service to patients, cafeteria customers, and catering customers. This role requires a team player who is flexible with their work schedule and willing to accept direction and perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service, seeking out customers in need of assistance and engaging with them in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Prepare food for the salad bar using recipes and following established rotations, keeping the salad bar well stocked.
  • Operate the cash register, maintaining daily overages and shortages within standards.
  • Complete slicer duties according to standards and on time.
  • Prepare items according to menu and standardized recipes.
  • Communicate effectively with catering customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Cleaning Responsibilities:

Work area is cleaned and sanitized when finished with a task, and daily/weekly/monthly cleaning lists are completed. Equipment used in food prep is cleaned, and equipment is handled safely with any malfunctions reported.


Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift, move, and load 20 to 30 pounds
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude

Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking are required, as well as potential exposure to very hot or cold temperatures.
