Job Summary

The Lift Operations Supervisor is a key member of the Dodge Ridge team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the lift stations and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our guests. This is a physically demanding position that requires long hours and working in inclement weather.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule work to ensure efficient operations
• Set goals and objectives, and develop action plans to achieve them
• Oversee all lift stations, including maintenance and repairs
• Plan, prepare, deliver, document, and file all training on lift operators
• Assist lift maintenance under the direction and training of the lift maintenance team
• Prepare lift operators for inspections and interviews from State, USFS, and Insurance Company
• Ensure all lifts and mountain are operational and that operating personnel are equipped and fit to perform their duties
• Employee performance documentation
• Review daily all lift incident report forms and report any potential problems to the lift operations manager
• Follow ANSI B77.1 requirements
• Accident investigations
• Documentation safety meetings
• Enforcement of safety rules
• Safe operation of our transport snow cat on designated routes
• Daily employee appearance inspections
• Communication with other departments
• Demonstrate an on-going commitment to delivering excellent customer service
• Working knowledge of emergency plan
• Maintain clean, safe, and professional workstations
• Maintain any appropriate records as set forth by company policy and procedures
• Recognize and correct any safety hazards within the lift operations department
• Shoveling snow, sometimes heavy wet snow. Heavy and awkward lifting of items up to 50 lbs. Walking and working on uneven ground, deep powder, icy and wet surfaces
• Provide timely and accurate information concerning weather conditions, grooming or slope conditions
• Communicate problems to superiors, while showing initiative in handling routine and emergency matters

Requirements

• Lift operations experience
• Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability required
• Supervisory skills: experience in supervising a large number of employees, good organizational skills
• Ability to read and to write legibly and to use good composition skills to complete records and report forms
• Computer and mathematical skills
• Effective and efficient leadership skills
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm
• Be punctual, honest, and trustworthy and possess good judgment
• Must be aware of the ski areas terrain and facilities
• Possess the ability to safely ski/board within the designated routes
• Ability to learn and be knowledgeable of the needs of the equipment and standard procedures for its care and safe operation
• Safe operation of a snowmobile in a variety of terrain and snow conditions
• Must be well groomed and present a good public image
• Good physical condition as this position requires skiing/boarding, hiking, shoveling, lifting and carrying. Heavy and awkward lifting of 50lbs
• Willingness to work during extreme weather conditions
• Safety and risk oriented
• Requires the skills of a host. This involves approaching guests in a courteous manner, inquiring if they have any questions and being able to respond professionally
• Must possess a valid driver's license and meet the Motor Vehicle Record qualifications as outlined in the Fleet Safety Program

Work Environment

The Lift Operations Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to extreme weather conditions. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, and will be expected to maintain a high level of physical fitness and be able to perform the duties of the position in a safe and efficient manner.
