Position Overview

Deciphera Pharmaceuticals is in search of a dedicated Medical Science Liaison (MSL) who will serve as a field-based scientific and clinical expert, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Medical Affairs within the Medical Affairs department.

Key Responsibilities

The MSL will:

  • Engage with Healthcare Providers (HCPs) in both academic and community settings to foster and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Exchange intricate medical and scientific information with the oncology community.
  • Develop and nurture valuable scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other experts in the field.
  • Deliver medical and scientific presentations to both internal and external audiences.
  • Provide internal stakeholders with insights and feedback gathered from interactions with HCPs.
  • Support awareness of company-sponsored clinical trials and investigator-initiated trials (ISTs).
  • Assist at professional meetings by staffing exhibits, gathering competitive intelligence, and creating supportive tools.
Compliance and Expertise

It is essential to adhere to corporate and healthcare compliance guidelines in all activities, particularly those related to clinical trials and scientific interactions. The MSL will:

  • Maintain up-to-date clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in specific therapeutic areas by reviewing scientific literature and attending relevant meetings.
  • Represent the company and Medical Affairs during discussions with the medical and scientific community.
  • Establish and sustain long-term collaborative relationships with Oncologists and other HCPs within the designated territory.
  • Document and respond to unsolicited requests for scientific information regarding Deciphera's programs and products.
  • Engage with assigned Medical Groups to support their scientific and research needs in alignment with Deciphera's Medical Affairs strategy.
  • Collaborate with publication planning to aid in the development of publications and communications.
  • Facilitate interactions between investigators and Medical Directors, as well as other internal stakeholders.
  • Provide clinical input and training to internal teams while adhering to regulatory guidelines.
  • Support the creation and delivery of clinical presentations at Advisory Boards.
