Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Nurse Specialist to join our team at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. As a key member of our Operating Room department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Job Summary:

The Operating Room Nurse Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This includes assessing patients' needs, developing individualized plans of care, and coordinating with the healthcare team to ensure seamless transitions throughout the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on assessment findings
  • Coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth transitions throughout the continuum of care
  • Support and empower patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum
  • Advocate for patients' rights and provide counsel to resolve issues
  • Document all patient care activities and assist healthcare team members with documentation
  • Mentor staff in understanding and advocating for relationship-based care initiatives
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve desired patient outcomes
Requirements:
  • 1 year of direct Operating Room experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
  • Certification in Basic Life Support
