Position Title: Vacuum Applications Specialist

Department: Applications & Technology

Reporting To: Lead Applications Engineer

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

The Vacuum Applications Specialist will be instrumental in delivering technical guidance and support in vacuum pump applications for the organization. This role will work in close collaboration with both the Sales & Support team and the Applications & Technology teams, engaging with various stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of vacuum solutions in semiconductor manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to comprehend their semiconductor processes and needs, offering customized vacuum pump solutions and specifications.
  • Deliver technical knowledge in the integration of vacuum products into various semiconductor manufacturing settings.
  • Specify and validate pump recommendations for semiconductor clients, ensuring compliance with industry standards and application best practices.
  • Conduct technical presentations to highlight the applications of vacuum solutions in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with technology, engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams to support the enhancement of existing products and the development of new solutions.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to prepare and review essential documentation.
  • Provide expertise in troubleshooting and resolving quality and process issues related to installed pumps.
  • Perform vacuum calculations and develop system specifications during the proposal phase.
  • Review and approve customer-specific requests for chemistry changes.
  • Actively participate in strategic demonstrations and follow-up activities.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of installation, maintenance, and service procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of calculations, specifications, and installation documentation.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and participate in safety and management meetings as required.
  • Propose and actively participate in customer training sessions.
  • Assist with other duties within the applications team as necessary.

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Thorough understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Strong project management capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively.
  • Proficient in data analysis and presentation creation for client engagement.
  • In-depth knowledge of vacuum technology and processes utilized in the semiconductor industry.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong teamwork and customer service abilities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor applications or a related field.
  • Skilled in data visualization and presentation development for technical sales.

Working Conditions

  • This is an office-based role with significant computer usage.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites and industry conferences may be required.
