About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreational Therapist to join our dynamic Home and Community team at Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals through creative and engaging activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patient needs and develop measurable objectives and goals in conjunction with the rehabilitation team.
  • Adjust treatment plans to achieve maximum results in independence and/or function.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate recreation activities, functional leisure skills, and leisure education.
  • Interview patients to assess capabilities, interests, and barriers, and monitor progress to recommend changes or modifications to the program as necessary.
  • Design community reintegration activities to assist patients with physical and cognitive needs during physical recreational/leisure activities.
  • Communicate patient needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, patient, family members, and others as applicable.
  • Observe, document, and report changes in patient condition/status to the Clinical Coordinator, Program Manager, or DCM, attending physician, and other treatment team members.
  • Consult with medical providers regarding patient evaluation and treatment, progress, and discharge from treatment.
  • Maintain and submit evaluation, treatment, and billing documentation in the required format and timelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation Therapy or equivalent.
  • Maintain certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist (CTRT) through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
  • Maintain professional license and/or certification if required by the state in which the CTRS practices.
  • Minimum of two years therapeutic therapy experience and therapeutic recreation program design.
  • Experience working with patients with neurologic or orthopedic injuries or conditions.
  • Demonstrate effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and part of a team.
  • Demonstrate strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Has reliable transportation and can travel to/from multiple assignments/locations on a daily basis.
