Key Responsibilities- Ensure a Safe Working Environment: Develop and implement strategies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees, adhering to company and regulatory standards.
- Execute Company Processes: Successfully execute company processes to ensure 100% compliance, including scheduling, dispatching, and equipment maintenance.
- Meet Performance Goals: Ensure annual performance goals are met or exceeded, including on-time dispatches, off-load rate, labor cost, and product loss and damage.
- Develop and Implement Daily Operating Plan: Assist in developing and implementing the daily operating plan, including equipment maintenance and driver work schedules, to meet or exceed customer delivery needs.
- Foster a Positive Work Environment: Foster a work environment that maximizes employee involvement, morale, and engagement, providing development opportunities for drivers and support staff.
- Maintain Food Safety: Maintain and monitor food safety activities in compliance with company and customer standards.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with company, state, federal, and local policies, regulations, DOT requirements, and safety/health standards.
- Partner with Transportation Manager: Partner with the Transportation Manager to provide oversight to route planning and bid package development.
- Solve Problems: Promptly solve problems to the maximum satisfaction of our customers.
- Participate in Committees: Participate in, contribute to, and potentially lead various committees, such as quality and safety.
- Work with Human Resources: Partner with Human Resources to ensure appropriate staffing levels throughout the year and address employee concerns promptly and appropriately.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required
- 2-4 Years of Related Leadership Experience: Required
- Self-Motivated and Disciplined Team Player: Required
