Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled System Operations Supervisor to join our team at Eversource Energy. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities associated with the safe, reliable, and economic operation of our generation, transmission, and distribution facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our generation, transmission, and distribution facilities.
  • Coordinate equipment outage scheduling and emergency procedures with ISO-NE, Local Control Center participants, and adjacent Local Control Centers.
  • Monitor real-time system status and implement changes via the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA) under normal and abnormal system conditions.
  • Utilize computer programs to simulate system conditions and determine generation, transmission, and distribution system reliability.
  • Provide supervision during assigned shifts in the absence of a higher level of supervision.
Essential Functions
  • Plan, prepare, approve, and issue orders for switching, grounding, and tagging requirements for generation, transmission, and distribution facilities.
  • Perform computer on-line and off-line security analysis studies to evaluate system status and develop plans to cope with possible or projected contingency conditions.
  • Assist the System Operations Coordinator with outage requests, including making arrangements for authorized switching personnel.
  • Determine faulted equipment locations, sectionalize via SCADA control, and isolate defective equipment to facilitate repairs.
  • Maintain system voltage profiles in accordance with prescribed voltage schedules.
  • Initiate emergency procedures as requested by ISO-NE or required by Local Control Center procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or two years of formal military/technical training beyond high school or equivalent.
  • Five years of related dispatching experience, including work in distribution dispatching, generation station operations, electrical maintenance, power system protection and control, or equivalent electric operations experience.
  • Ability to obtain NERC certification within the first year.
Working Conditions

This position requires 24/7 shift rotation coverage, emergency storm assignments, and travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
