Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant

  • Manage general ledger operations, encompassing journal entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Engage directly with reinsurers and brokers, ensuring timely responses to inquiries.
  • Evaluate financial data to create management reports related to reinsurance initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly Schedule F and intercompany reports.
  • Develop schedules for both internal and external reporting in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Facilitate banking functions, including wire transfers and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.

Qualifications for the Financial Accountant Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in general accounting.
  • Strong communication abilities are essential.
