Pediatric Tracheostomy Specialist

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of pediatric nursing and a proven track record of providing exceptional care to patients with tracheostomies. Key responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining the student's tracheostomy, administering medications, and communicating effectively with the student's medical team and educators.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide continuous care and monitoring for the student's tracheostomy, including suctioning, dressing changes, and equipment maintenance.
  2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the student's healthcare provider.
  3. Monitor vital signs and assess the student's overall health status throughout the school day.
  4. Develop and implement emergency response plans in coordination with the school's emergency management team.
  5. Communicate effectively with the student, parents/guardians, teachers, and other school staff regarding the student's health and care plan.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients, particularly those with complex medical needs.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
