Job Title: Developmental Specialist

Thom Child and Family Services is seeking a highly skilled Developmental Specialist to join their team. As a Developmental Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing early intervention services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments to identify the developmental needs of children and their families.
  • Provide direct child development services and activities tailored to the unique needs of each child.
  • Develop and implement Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Conduct progress notes, reports, and assessments to track the child's development and progress.
  • Provide individual and group interventions to support the development of infants and toddlers in areas such as cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication development.
  • Assess family and child strengths, resources, concerns, and progress to ensure that services are tailored to their needs.
  • Act as a service coordinator for families, scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan.
  • Provide supportive professional assistance to families, facilitating parent-child interactions and empowering them to act as advocates for their child.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as early childhood education, child development, or special education, with at least 300 hours of practicum or work experience with young children.
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and families is preferred.
  • Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development is essential.
  • Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
  • Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural a plus.
