Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Porter to join our team at SpaceX. As a Porter, you will be responsible for interacting with our guests, fellow staff members, and management staff in a polite and courteous manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Sanitation and Food Safety: Demonstrate consistent sanitation and food safety practices.
  • Receiving Spaces: Help evaluate receiving spaces to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Task Completion: Complete daily, weekly, and monthly tasks timely and accurately.
  • Company Safety Standards: Follow company safety standards at all times and look out for the safety of other team members and guests.
  • Job Coordination: Coordinate job duties around other team members to help ensure efficient preparation for opening of service.
  • Inventory Management: Put food order away accurately and rotate stock in cooler, freezer, and dry storage area using the first in-first out (FIFO) method while monitoring shelf life and code dates.
  • Equipment Operation: Maintain a basic working knowledge of the operation of all the equipment in the restaurant.
  • Additional Tasks: Complete other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the manager on duty.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Experience: 1+ year of either restaurant experience, warehouse experience, and/or customer service experience.

  • Teamwork and Self-Driven: Ability to work well with others and be self-driven.
  • CA Food Handler's Card: Current and valid CA food handler's card or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • Physical Demands: Ability to carry large, heavy items unassisted such as large packages, dishes in tubs, or trays (up to 30 lbs).
  • Standing Time: Ability to stand for long periods of time - up to 8-10 hours a day.
  • Availability: Willingness to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Frequent Bending and Lifting: Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects.

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: Porter/Level 1: $22.50/hour
Porter/Level 2: $24.00/hour

Base Salary: Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Total Rewards Package: Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year.
