About the Role

Rush University is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist I to join our team in the Operating Room. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and surgical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field and back table during surgical procedures.
  • Assist in patient care and surgical services under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Prepare instrumentation and equipment for decontamination and ensure proper handling and storage.
  • Participate in surgical cases and prioritize scrub activities based on the type of procedure and team needs.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient privacy and maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Progressive experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Able to interact effectively with others in difficult situations.
  • Demonstrates manual dexterity and knowledge of surgical procedures.
