Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers, including individual design tasks and quality control efforts
  • Contribute to team work packages for overhead, underground, and street light projects, using customer GIS and work management systems
  • Collaborate with engineers and design leads on client issues, including schedule adherence and team quality control
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget of assigned work, and initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes
  • Coordinate conflicting utilities and field engineering design requirements, and develop large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in electric utility design engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred) from an ABET accredited program/institution
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
  • Ability to provide reliable transportation for customer-related travel
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills

  • Previous experience with structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations
  • Proficiency with MicroStation, work management software, and job estimating software
