Banquet Set-up Attendant Job Description

Job Summary:

The Banquet Set-up Attendant is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of events and functions at Peabody Hotels & Resorts. This role involves setting up banquet rooms, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and providing exceptional guest service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up banquet rooms with tables, chairs, staging, and other equipment as specified by group requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas, including closets and storage areas.
  • Inspect set rooms for cleanliness and agreement to group requirements, and rectify any deficiencies.
  • Use designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment to clean various floor surfaces and maintain equipment.
  • Assist with inventories, stock requisitioned supplies, and follow the maintenance program as assigned.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Compute basic arithmetic.
  • Provide legible communication.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to adhere to Peabody grooming standards.
  • Ability to exemplify Peabody Service Excellence.

Physical Abilities:

  • Exert physical effort in transporting carts weighing up to 300 pounds to their proper workplace.
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and store in overhead areas approximately 30 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, squat, and reach on a constant basis.

Working Environment:

The Banquet Set-up Attendant will work in a fast-paced environment with variable temperature conditions, noise levels, and physical demands. The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the smooth execution of events and functions.
