Job Summary

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of technicians responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles. The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance and a proven track record of supervising a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of technicians responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles.
  • Plan and schedule repair work to ensure that all work is done in a safe and timely manner.
  • Monitor operational performance and efficiency, and take action to redirect activities as needed.
  • Report to management on performance and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Supervise technicians in the maintenance shop, including conducting daily shop huddles and fleet walks, coaching and counseling technicians as needed, and making hiring and termination decisions in concert with Human Resources.
  • Perform inspections of outside repairs to ensure that all work was properly completed in accordance with Company safety and compliance procedures and federal and state regulations.
  • Identify training opportunities and document issues and corrective action as needed.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and track issues and resolution to ensure that all work is properly completed in accordance with Company safety and compliance procedures and federal and state regulations.
  • Oversee repair diagnostics on more complex matters and provide coaching as needed.
  • Oversee maintenance shop inventory control system to ensure that necessary equipment and parts levels are maintained and purchases are within budget.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.
  • T3 Drive, T4 Brake, T5 Suspension and Steering, T6 Electrical/Electronic, T7 HVAC Systems, ASE T2 Diesel Engine, and ASE T Master Certified.
  • 3 years of experience in maintenance working with heavy equipment.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, supervisor, or other management role requiring a thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA, and other federal and state regulations.
