Key Responsibilities- Medication Management: Review and interpret physicians' orders to ensure accurate and safe medication administration. Identify and address potential drug incompatibilities and allergies.
- Pharmacy Operations: Oversee the preparation and delivery of medications to care areas in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure secure storage and effective workflow.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with healthcare team members to provide pharmacotherapy recommendations and achieve optimal patient outcomes. Provide accurate and timely responses to healthcare professionals and patients regarding drug information and medication use policies.
- Leadership and Training: Supervise and mentor technicians, interns, and students to maintain the accuracy and quality of pharmaceutical services. Participate in the orientation, instruction, and training of pharmacy students, interns, and other healthcare professionals.
- Quality and Safety: Maintain quality and safety in the department through completion of quality control checks, identifying and reporting medication errors and near misses, and implementing process improvements.
- Customer Service: Provide professional and engaging customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
