Job Title: Teacher of English Language Arts for Grades 6-8

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of English Language Arts for Grades 6-8 to join our team at Marion P. Thomas Charter School. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal growth of our students.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons in English Language Arts to students in Grades 6-8. You will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters a love of reading, writing, and communication. Your expertise will help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, preparing them for success in high school and beyond.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in English Language Arts, aligned with state and national standards
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Develop and implement engaging and interactive lesson plans that promote student engagement and motivation
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) in Teacher of English
