**Job Overview**

The NYCIRB seeks a skilled Insurance Classification Specialist to join our team. As an integral member of our Underwriting Services Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our classification processes.

About Us

The New York Compensation Insurance Rating Board (NYCIRB) is a non-profit association of insurance carriers dedicated to providing data collection, analysis, and loss cost development services to the workers' compensation industry. Our mission is to foster a stable and healthy workers' compensation system in New York State.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform virtual audits and inspections of employers' operations and workplaces.
  • Gather payroll and operational data from employers and review it for accuracy.
  • Determine the proper classification(s) for business operations based on audit findings or other information provided by carriers, employers, or representatives.
  • Process Construction Classification Premium Adjustment Program (CPAP) applications.
  • Communicate effectively with employers about the authority of the Rating Board and the purpose of audits and inspections.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and be a motivated self-starter.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of Workers' Compensation insurance industry experience or similar related experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Solid typing and computer skills.

Salary Range: $53,000 - $65,000 per annum.
