About the Role

As a key member of the Google Procurement Organization, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing procurement strategies that drive value for the company. The Category Management team partners closely with stakeholders to develop and execute holistic category strategies, manage stakeholder relationships, and bring excellence to Google-wide sourcing, supplier, and contract management.

Responsibilities
  • Drive Maximum Value: Utilize cost drivers supported by total cost and should cost analysis to ensure close alignment of category plans and strategies to business priorities and functional objectives.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Develop and manage multiple cross-functional teams in the execution of category initiatives to deliver maximum value across the procurement process.
  • Develop and Own Category Plans: Lead and own multi-year global category plans and strategies across defining buying channels, supply base profiles, purchasing policies, supplier relationship management programs, etc.
  • Establish Strategic Partnerships: Foster strong partnerships with key budget owners, product area/functional stakeholders, and strategic suppliers to drive innovation and category transformation.
Requirements
  • 14 years of experience in multi-disciplined procurement, leading strategy development, execution, and sourcing, or a related function.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Preferred qualifications: Experience leading cross-functional or global teams with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of global travel landscape, emerging trends, and potential disruptions.
  • Knowledge of travel technology solutions (e.g., booking tools, expense management systems) and ability to leverage them for efficiency and reporting.
  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive travel strategies aligned with company's overall goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to leverage travel data and insights for continuous program optimization and cost savings.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable agreements and partnerships with airlines, hotels, and travel management companies.
Compensation

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $202,000-$287,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
