Maintenance Technician Job Description

Winland Foods is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair of equipment and machinery.
  • Operate and maintain waste treatment systems, including chemical applications and pump and motor function.
  • Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and in acceptable working order.
  • Perform snow removal and lawn care removal as needed.
  • Change light bulbs and ballasts, and replace ceiling tiles.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on air conditioners and furnaces/heaters.
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines, and document hours worked on applicable work orders.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three to five years' experience in wastewater treatment or a related field.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting wastewater systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Work Environment:

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.

Usually loud working environment.

Frequently working outside when needed.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to stand and talk or hear.

Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
