Job Summary:

As a seasoned A&P Mechanic Lead, you will be responsible for identifying and correcting complex issues with malfunctioning jet, turboprop, and reciprocating multiengine aircraft mechanical components and systems. Your expertise will be utilized to perform diagnostic and mechanical duties, requiring a thorough knowledge of aircraft engines, mechanical systems, and components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnostic and Mechanical Duties: Perform a variety of diagnostic and mechanical duties on one or more jet, turboprop, and piston multiengine aircraft models, involving diagnoses of malfunctions and required disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft mechanically for flight and delivery to customers.
  • Complex Aircraft Assemblies and Systems: Check, correct, or replace a variety of complex aircraft assemblies, aircraft systems, landing gear systems, air conditioner systems, pressurization systems, turbochargers, and optional equipment installations.
  • Engine Component Repair and Replacement: Repair or replace a variety of engine components and accessory items such as carburetors, fuel control units, fuel injection systems, air bleed systems, oil and fuel pumps, starter/generators, and hydraulic and vacuum pumps.
  • Inspection and Modification Work: Perform 100 hours, annual, and progressive inspection procedures set forth in FAR 43, and perform modification work on aircraft systems and structures.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Responsible for clear, concise, and accurate written reports in logs, inspection reports, and in parts identification for issue and return documents.
  • Leadership and Training: May be required to observe operation of mechanical systems during flight and troubleshoot problems for in-shop repairs, and responsible for guiding, instructing, and scheduling the work of three or more technicians, providing job-related training or instruction as required.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Equivalent to a high school education required.
  • A&P License: A&P license required.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Requires use of arithmetic, blueprints, and specifications, plus knowledge of jet and piston airframe and engine principles, and requires additional vendor training at engine and airframe schools.
Experience:
  • Experience: Requires over five years of diversified jet, turboprop, piston, modification, 100 hours, and annual service experience as an A&P mechanic, with a minimum of 2-3 years experience on Textron Aviation aircraft.
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable.
