Job Title: Millwright Level 2

West Fraser, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Millwright Level 2 to join our Maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the safe and efficient application of technical skills and knowledge to maintain industrial machinery, conveyors, and mechanical systems associated with the manufacturing of forestry products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including conveying systems, major machine centers, and other machinery.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and printed instructions.
  • Work safely under high-pressure situations and be a self-starter.
  • Possess a basic understanding of line-ups of pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Adjust the tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb tools.
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Lay out mounting holes using measuring instruments and drill holes with a power drill.
  • Replace defective parts of a machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
  • Level bed-plate and establish a center line using straightedge, levels, and transit.
  • Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
Requirements:
  • Must have cutting torch experience (Oxygen/Acetylene).
  • Must have welding experience (GMAW and SMAW).
  • Must be safety-oriented and comply with ZES.
  • Be willing to work overtime and be on-call to support operations.
  • Must possess 5 years of Millwright experience in an Industrial/Manufacturing environment or an Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Maintenance Assessment will be given to all candidates to determine level of pay with a minimum score of 80 needed to be considered.
