About General Merchandise

Our General Merchandise team is responsible for ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. This includes leading inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. We strive to provide a consistent experience for our guests by owning pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work.

Job Summary

We are seeking a General Merchandise Team Leader to join our team. As a General Merchandise Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of hourly team members, executing daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals, and providing exceptional guest service. You will also be responsible for helping to create a scheduling plan, enabling team members to stay up-to-date on relevant trends and products, and evaluating candidates for open positions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and hold others accountable for delivering exceptional guest service and meeting sales goals.
  • Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals, including merchandising, pricing, transitions, revisions, sales plans, sampling, promotions, and price change.
  • Help create a scheduling plan and enable team members to stay up-to-date on relevant trends and products.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs, including early morning, evening, overnight shifts, and weekends.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable, communicate effectively, and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
