Key Responsibilities- Develop powertrain calibrations for future automotive products
- Support the design and development of powertrain hardware, controls software, and other vehicle systems
- Perform independent project tasks and collaborate with the team and customers
- Conduct dynamometer and/or vehicle-based calibration development
- Analyze test results, review findings, and develop actions to provide solutions for issues
- Conduct in-vehicle calibration evaluations and provide thorough powertrain function assessments
- Perform hot climate, cold climate, and high-altitude development testing to meet customer objectives
- Calibrate all aspects of powertrain function, including core engine and transmission control features, electronic throttle control, and reliability monitor
- Provide positive technical contributions in a project team environment
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
- Two (2) years of powertrain calibration experience at an OEM or T1 supplier
- Similar academic or research experience may be considered
- Experience using commercially available calibration tool software (e.g., ETAS INCA, ATI VISION)
- Able to read and interpret controls algorithms presented in MATLAB Simulink or C-based software documentation
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Solid knowledge of powertrain system operating principles
- Understanding of common powertrain electronic and electromechanical sensors and actuators
- Good intrapersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Engine dynamometer-based mapping or hardware development experience
- Work performed in an environmental or emissions test facility
- Travel for extreme ambient condition testing
- Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle
- Data processing with MATLAB and automated script writing
- MS PowerPoint and Project software
