Job Title: Meat Department Team LeadAbout the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and ensuring that Lowes Foods guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operations are maintained in the meat department to achieve maximum sales.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Service: Ensures all guests receive polite, friendly greetings and interactions from the meat department staff. Creates a selling environment through the use of selling skills.
  • Sales Performance: Achieves budgeted sales, supply/wrap, shrink, and gross profits for the meat department.
  • Product Preparation: Prepares products for sale (meat cutting, slicing, trimming, wrapping, weighing, and pricing) according to Lowes Foods Standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintains the desired level of inventory and supplies for the meat department. Ensures in-stock conditions through proper ordering.
  • Maintaining High Quality: Maintains high quality and freshness with products available for sale. Ensures all products are in date.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Maintains safety and sanitation standards in all areas that come in contact with meat and in the prep areas, coolers, freezers, and sales floor.
  • Staff Development: Provides guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to the meat department staff to ensure they achieve satisfactory performance standards and guest interaction.
Requirements:
  • Interpersonal Skills: Should possess good interpersonal skills, effective selling skills, and have an outgoing personality.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well with others. Ability to sell and interact with guests.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. constantly.
  • Communication: Ability to read and understand information and directions.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of meat products and operations.
  • Leadership: Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job, including operating a computer.
