Position Overview: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse is a full-time role, typically requiring three 12-hour night shifts each week, with varying days of the week. This position is represented by UFCW.

Compensation Structure: This is a non-exempt position with a salary range of $40.39 to $80.44 per hour.

Sign-On Incentive: A sign-on bonus ranging from $10,000 to $15,000 is available, contingent upon qualifications and specific conditions.

Job Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning and delivering comprehensive patient care to address both psychosocial and physical needs. This role involves managing nursing resources and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care.

Key Duties:
1. Deliver direct nursing care in accordance with established standards, hospital policies, and guidelines, utilizing evidence-based practices throughout the nursing process.
2. Assess the nursing needs of assigned patients, acting as an advocate and providing tailored care throughout their stay, while evaluating its effectiveness.
3. Proactively anticipate changes in patient care requirements and communicate any alterations in patient condition promptly to the charge nurse, supervisor, and physician.
4. Engage in patient and family education, documenting teaching efforts with appropriate resources.
5. Develop effective discharge and referral plans upon admission, utilizing relevant hospital and community resources.
6. Delegate patient care tasks to appropriate personnel while maintaining accountability for those activities, and assist nursing team members in the nursing process.
7. Ensure all aspects of patient care prioritize safety and minimize the risk of medical errors; document according to established standards and communicate effectively.
8. Continuously develop and maintain professional and clinical skills, completing all annual competency and education requirements within designated timeframes. Participate in staff meetings, patient care meetings, and educational in-services.
9. Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. An Associate's degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience or equivalent is required.

Licenses and Certifications:
1. A current RN license in the state of Washington is required.
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
3. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within three months of hire.
4. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required within three months of hire.

Unit-Specific Certification Requirements:
• For Medical, Surgical, and Pediatrics: Pediatric Emergency Assessment and Response (PEARS) certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
• For Emergency: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
