Job Summary:


We are seeking a skilled Collections/Insurance Clerk to join our team at Mountain View Hospital. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for collecting accounts receivable, establishing payment arrangements with patients, and maintaining patient accounts from billing to payment receipt.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Collect delinquent accounts and establish payment arrangements with patients
  • Evaluate unpaid accounts for write-off to bad debt
  • Receive patient payments and post cash receipts
  • Maintain department records, reports, and files
  • Follow up on accounts until zero balance is achieved or turned over to collections
  • Participate in educational programs and meetings
  • Research credit balance accounts and refund overpayments
  • Establish and implement a system for collecting accounts
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies

Requirements:



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to use hospital information systems and operate basic computer functions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet monthly reporting deadlines
