Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cafe Barista to join our team at Newtown Athletic Club. As a key member of our cafe team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks and smoothies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet customers and provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere
  • Take customer orders and operate a cash register with accuracy and efficiency
  • Prepare and serve a variety of pre-prepared foods and beverages
  • Communicate food orders to the cook and ensure timely delivery
  • Manage cash and credit transactions, making change as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a cafe or restaurant environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with cash handling
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
