Job Title: Ophthalmic Clinic Scribe

Join our team at Retina Consultants of Texas as an Ophthalmic Clinic Scribe, where you will play a vital role in providing accurate documentation and summarization of ocular examinations. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our providers to ensure seamless communication and patient flow.

Responsibilities:
  • Accurately document patient examinations, including chief complaints, assessments, and treatment recommendations.
  • Ensure accurate ICD10 and CPT coding in patient charts.
  • Observe and assist during examinations, providing support to patients and providers as needed.
  • Maintain patient flow and communication, ensuring timely completion of tasks and appointment scheduling.
  • Provide support to the clinic by assisting with Ophthalmic Technician duties and notifying physicians of changes to the daily schedule.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 6 months experience in a medical office, preferably an ophthalmology office.
  • Scribe certification (certified ophthalmic assistant), preferred.
Physical Abilities:
  • Must be able to walk and stand for entire work shift.
  • Must be able to move frequently from standing and sitting depending on exam room configuration during clinic sessions.
  • Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly-lit setting.
  • Must be able to hear softly spoken words.
  • Lifting required up to 30 pounds.
