Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Teach a variety of English and writing courses as assigned, and serve as Program Coordinator for the Liberal Arts: Writing Associate Degree, which includes curriculum development, academic assessment, program review, and student advising.
- Program Coordination: Develop and lead program-building efforts for the Liberal Arts: Writing Associate Degree, including coordinating student events and chairing advisory board.
- Departmental Participation: Participate and collaborate in departmental activities, including department and division meetings and activities.
- Academic Advising: Serve as academic advisor to assigned students and maintain office hours.
- Other Responsibilities: Complete online course development and training as necessary, and perform required college service.
- Master's Degree: A Master's degree in a related field is required.
- Teaching Experience: Experience teaching English at the college or high school level is required.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated interest or experience in faculty leadership roles is required.
- Technology Skills: Experience using technology in instruction and assessment is required.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Ability to teach and contribute positively to a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population is required.
- Community College Experience: Community college teaching experience is preferred.
- Student Publication Experience: Experience advising or managing student publications and student writing projects is preferred.
- Academic Assessment Experience: Experience with academic assessment and curriculum development is preferred.
- Diversity and Inclusion Experience: Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds is preferred.
