Key Responsibilities:
As a Trailer Technician, you will conduct maintenance services ensuring that the volume and quality of work meet the standards set by Dayton Freight Lines.
- Suspension and running gear components
- Landing gear assembly and components
- Wheel components and tires
- Brake and air components
- Electrical, lighting, and wiring components
- Rear frame and door components
- Side, nose, and roof components
- Interior and floor components
Conduct thorough Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs
Maintain high-level welding and metal fabrication skills
Perform service calls as needed
Wash and fuel equipment when necessary
Conduct road tests on vehicles to ensure quality repairs were completed (dependent upon having a CDL)
Exhibit a consistently positive attitude, interacting courteously and professionally with colleagues
Proactively assist, guide, and mentor junior technicians
Actively participate in the care and maintenance of the shop, grounds, and all equipment and tools
Ensure a clean, safe environment compliant with OSHA and company standards
Accurately record all work and labor using the EMS system
Collaborate with the Parts Department to maintain proper inventory levels of materials, parts, services, and shop supplies
Adhere to EPA regulations as well as DOT and company safety requirements
Perform additional maintenance duties or assignments as required
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License
- Basic math skills
- Proficient in English
- Ability to pass a drug screening
