Capital One's Senior Software Engineer, Backend Opportunity

Are you a skilled software engineer passionate about building and pioneering in the technology space? Do you enjoy solving complex business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, inclusive, and iterative delivery environment?

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) organization. As a member of IFX's Finance Tech team, you will contribute to building tech solutions for tracking and reporting financial transactions, reconciliations, data anomaly detection, data masking, automated regulatory solutions, forecasting cash flows, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support full-stack technical solutions.
  2. Work with experienced developers on machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems.
  3. Leverage programming languages like Python and Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, as well as Cloud-based data warehousing services such as Redshift and Snowflake.
  4. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, participate in internal & external tech communities, and mentor fellow engineers.
  5. Partner with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions driving impactful experiences.
  6. Perform unit tests and code reviews with colleagues to ensure high-quality code.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree.
  2. At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 5+ years of experience in Java or Python.
  2. 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
  3. 2+ years of experience with Spark or distributed computing frameworks.
  4. 3+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.
  5. 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.

Annual salary: $165,100 - $188,500 for Senior Software Engineer in New York City (Hybrid On-Site). This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. Capital One offers a comprehensive set of health, financial, and other benefits that support your total well-being.
