The Outside Plant Engineering Specialist will conduct thorough analyses of external plant telecommunications.
As a key player in our organization, you will be instrumental in shaping the entire network for service providers.
Compensation:
$20 - $23 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and oversee field engineering initiatives, ensuring effective planning, design, and permit acquisition for new cable routes.
2. Conduct site visits to collect vital OSP survey data, assess customer needs, and identify necessary OSP equipment.
3. Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including engineering, construction, project management, and scheduling experts, all dedicated to achieving customer satisfaction.
4. Coordinate with remote drafting and GIS teams to create construction drawings essential for network development.
5. Generate base mapping and deliver field engineering services to prepare permit and construction drawings in electronic formats.
6. Investigate and integrate permitting requirements from relevant authorities into OSP designs.
7. Propose final routes based on cost-effective solutions and regulatory requirements.
8. Explore various routing options, including aerial and underground alternatives, while considering existing conduits.
9. Maintain regular communication with the customer’s engineering and project management teams through various channels.
10. Uphold safety standards and practices in accordance with regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
1. Minimum age of 18 years.
2. Authorization to work in the United States.
3. High school diploma or equivalent required.
4. 2-4 years of experience in the Outside Plant Engineering sector.
5. Familiarity with aerial and underground construction methodologies and engineering standards.
6. Knowledge of cable placement and splicing techniques.
7. Strong communication skills.
8. Willingness to travel and work extended hours, including weekends if necessary.
9. Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
10. Understanding of permitting processes for local and state agencies is a plus.
