Role Summary:

The Accountant will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company's financial documentation, ensuring precision and adherence to accounting regulations. This position encompasses the preparation of financial statements, conducting account reconciliations, and fostering the overall fiscal well-being of the organization. The successful candidate will possess a robust grasp of accounting principles, outstanding analytical capabilities, and the aptitude to collaborate effectively in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
    • Examine financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to management.
    • Assist in the formulation of budgets and forecasts.
  • General Ledger Management:
    • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
    • Ensure accurate recording and classification of all financial transactions.
    • Prepare and post journal entries as necessary.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Oversight:
    • Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and precise processing.
    • Conduct regular account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Compliance and Audit Support:
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Tax Compliance:
    • Support the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely submissions.
    • Maintain accurate records of tax-related transactions and assist in tax planning initiatives.
  • Payroll Collaboration:
    • Work with the HR department to ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting.
  • Process Enhancement:
    • Identify opportunities for refining accounting processes and systems.
    • Implement best practices to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Engage with other departments to support comprehensive financial management.
    • Provide mentorship and assistance to junior accounting personnel as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
    • Experience within the transport and logistics sector is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
    • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Experience with tax preparation and compliance is a plus.
