Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer

At Raytheon, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of software development and delivery.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Senior Platform Engineer to lead the development and implementation of our platform infrastructure services. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and integrating platform infrastructure services using technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and Rancher. Your expertise will help us to streamline processes, enhance collaboration, and accelerate release cycles, driving efficiency and innovation in our software development process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement platform infrastructure services using Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and Rancher.
  • Develop and maintain automated services to enable software engineers to focus on developing mission capabilities.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to design and implement development and mission solutions.
  • Integrate security and compliance into the platform with services such as encryption and access management.
  • Provide operational support for the platform.
Requirements:
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI / CI Poly security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible.
  • Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CICD Pipelines tools (E.g. Jira, Confluence, Bit Bucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Gitlab).
  • Exposure to Cloud based web services such as AWS.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices such as OWASP, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with Networking Concepts and architectures.
