Key Responsibilities
  • Supports and Assists Physicians and Registered Nurses

Collaborate with physicians and registered nurses to ensure seamless execution of endoscopic procedures, providing technical support and assistance as needed.

Verifies Equipment Functioning and Performs Safety Checks

Conduct thorough safety checks and verify the proper functioning of endoscopic equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.

Maintains Endoscopic Equipment and Prepares Broken Scopes for Repair

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of endoscopic equipment, and prepare broken scopes for repair, adhering to ANSI/AAMI standards.

Collects and Delivers Specimens and Prepares Rooms and Equipment

Collect and deliver specimens collected during procedures, and prepare rooms and equipment for the next patient, ensuring a clean and sterile environment.

Assists with Therapeutic Interventions and Coordinates Supply Inventory

Assist with therapeutic interventions such as balloon dilations, polypectomy, and stent placement, and coordinate the review of special-order supply inventory to ensure rooms are stocked for next-day procedures.

Completes Annual Competencies and Maintains Patient Confidentiality

Independently complete annual competencies and maintain patient confidentiality, adhering to Christus Health's policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role.

0-1 Years of Experience Preferred

0-1 years of experience in the Operating Room or Endoscopy Unit is preferred.

BLS (American Heart Association) Required

BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required for this role.

SGNA Certification within 6 Months of Hire Required

SGNA certification within 6 months of hire is required for this role.
