Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Graduate Research Assistant to join our team at the University of Georgia. The successful candidate will contribute to a project involving insect-transmitted virus characterization and epidemiology in crops grown in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on virus-vector and virus-host interaction in crops important to Georgia.
  • Apply genomics approach for host resistance against the viruses in cotton crops.
  • Disseminate research outcomes through conferences, symposia, and peer-reviewed research articles.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Agricultural Science or a related field.
  • Experience in plant virology labs and exposure to field, greenhouse, and molecular labs.
  • Knowledge of molecular techniques and field analysis.
  • Physical demands include light lifting, standing, and/or sitting for extended periods.
Working Conditions
  • This is a position of trust.
  • The position does not require operation, access, or control of financial resources.
  • The position does not require a P-Card.
  • The position does not require driving.
