CAD Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our team at Brooksource. As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for creating high-quality drawings and designs using Autodesk Civil 3D.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Revising existing drawings and preparing new drawings of basic components from explicit verbal or written instructions or detailed sketches associated with civil design/engineering.
  • Successfully plotting drawings and learning company and client drafting standards and procedures.
  • Producing high-quality drawings for the team while following the quality procurement process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • An associate degree in computer-aided drafting and design is desirable.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience required.
  • Candidate must be proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage different tasks for different projects simultaneously when needed.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Mastered basic commands of AutoCAD/MicroStation (ability to use higher-level commands, timesaving programs, and routines occasionally).
  • Candidate must perform at a high level regarding quality while adapting fast to clients.
  • Knowledge of other programs would be a big plus for the position.
  • Candidate must be detail-oriented (paper and in-person) and have very good/strong communication skills.
  • OpenRoad and/or OpenSite experience preferred.
