Job Overview

The Production Operations Director is a pivotal leadership role within Confluence Council Inc., reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. This position is integral to the management team, collaborating with executive leaders and fellow directors to oversee programming and operational activities.

This role entails serving as the primary production manager for all events hosted by Confluence Council Inc. and facilitating the venue's utilization for community partnerships and rental events. Close collaboration with various stakeholders, including academic departments and community organizations, is essential to ensure exceptional service delivery. The position is primarily a daytime role, although flexibility for evening, weekend, and holiday hours is required.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  1. Recruit, mentor, and evaluate both full-time and part-time staff, ensuring they effectively execute technical requirements for diverse events.
  2. Oversee the management of production resources, including maintaining an inventory of equipment.
  3. Provide comprehensive oversight of production services, including:
  • Budget planning and execution.
  • Event coordination for internal and external clients.
  • Compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
Conduct training sessions for staff on production and operational protocols.Assist in the development and promotion of fundraising initiatives.Supervise the operational aspects of training programs related to production techniques.Maintain accurate venue documentation and production specifications.Prepare and manage budgets related to production venues and public spaces.Establish and enforce policies for event production and equipment usage.Act as a liaison with technology services to ensure seamless operations.Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, with a standard workweek averaging 45 hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary. Confluence Council Inc. is committed to fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and respect.

Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in technical theater or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in production management.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with a diverse clientele.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Extensive experience in live event production.
  • Certifications in theatrical rigging and electrics.
