Position Summary:
The Portfolio Manager plays a vital role within the Community Impact Division, focusing on the development and management of a strategic portfolio of investments and collaborations aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents in the St. Louis area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Management
- Oversee a designated portfolio of community investments to positively impact individuals and families.
- Manage the entire grant lifecycle, including evaluation, due diligence, and fund allocation.
- Evaluate the performance of partner organizations using established metrics to ensure effective resource utilization.
- Maintain regular communication with partner agencies to foster strong community relationships.
- Conduct site visits and analyze performance reports to monitor partner agency effectiveness.
- Support the recruitment, training, and oversight of community investment volunteers.
- Facilitate connections between funding recipients and community stakeholders to promote collaboration.
- Ensure that reliable data and outcomes are accessible for United Way and its partners, working closely with the evaluation team.
- Identify and coordinate capacity-building opportunities to enhance the capabilities of service providers.
- Collaboration and Leadership
- Engage with relevant community partners and resources to maximize impact.
- Lead collaborative efforts across sectors, fostering trust and commitment among stakeholders.
- Facilitate discussions and joint problem-solving to advance shared goals.
- Continuously enhance expertise in the field of community service.
- Work in tandem with internal divisions to align and integrate initiatives.
- Represent the organization at community events and coalitions, maintaining a professional image.
- Conduct community dialogues to gather insights and feedback.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health, or a related discipline, with at least five years of experience in the nonprofit sector.
- Proven ability to assess and monitor organizational effectiveness.
- Experience in grant management and collaborative initiatives.
- Strong facilitation skills to convene discussions with key stakeholders.
- Expertise in basic needs and familiarity with evidence-based practices and local resources.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- A collaborative mindset with a positive attitude and self-motivation.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse community groups and partners.
- Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
