Job Title: Food Service Worker

Lawrence Hall is seeking a skilled Food Service Worker to join our team. As a key member of our food service program, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to our clients in a safe and sanitary environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals in compliance with Illinois State Board of Education guidelines
  • Serve meals to clients in a palatable presentation and record meals served for department records
  • Responsible for checking food orders, carrying/rotating into storage, dry and refrigerated, all supplies upon delivery
  • Clean kitchen area and maintain cleaning schedule according to sanitary regulations
  • Practice trauma-informed care and engage with clients, caregivers, and family members to support healing and recovery
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must take and pass Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification course
  • At least one (1) year experience in food service functions
  • Current Food Service Sanitation (state and city) certification
  • Knowledge of childhood trauma and prior experience working in settings with youth and families that have been exposed to trauma or experiencing traumatic stress preferred
