Job Title: Psychologist I, Licensed

Job Summary:

The Psychologist I, Licensed provides mental health evaluation and treatment for children, adolescents, and families in the department or division's area of focus. This role involves providing psychological/developmental assessments, individual and group supervision to pre- and postdoctoral psychology trainees, and teaching duties including didactic presentations, community presentations, and participation in staff/supervisor meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment, treatment planning, and providing psychotherapy to a defined caseload of patients and their families.
  • Completing 22 hours per week of billed services, including monthly intake, psychotherapy, and psychodiagnostic assessment.
  • Increasing the number of initial intake assessments to meet State and County requirements for access to mental health services within 10 business days of request for service.
  • Providing evidence-based treatments and parent management training to parents.
  • Ability to conceptualize needs of case based on diagnosis, developmental level, and usual mental health care.
  • Proactive ability to complete required outcome measures on time and to follow documentation requirements for these measures.
  • Timely documentation of progress notes within 3 business days.

Requirements:

  • Supervised professional experience providing therapy to a pediatric psychology population is required.
  • Previous consultation and liaison experience within a medical setting is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the various psychosocial aspects of commonly referred medical conditions is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supervising trainees is preferred.
  • Experience conducting psychological and developmental assessments is preferred.
  • Training in evidence-based psychological treatments and experience working with children with developmental disabilities highly preferred.

Education and Licensure:

  • Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D., in School, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology; prefer education from an APA-accredited program.
  • License in psychology in California.
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association required.

Pay Scale Information:

$94,224.00-$169,728.00

CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.
