Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Senior Splunk Resource for a contract role with our esteemed client, Smart IT Frame LLC. This position is focused on enhancing our client's Cloud and Infrastructure Services.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be tasked with the design, execution, support, and management of Splunk systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the availability of data sources and facilitating log/metric flow into Splunk.
  • Conducting data parsing, enrichment, and filtering.
  • Deploying modifications across all Splunk components and integrating necessary source tools.
  • Monitoring the Splunk infrastructure for effective capacity planning and optimization.

Essential Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Proficient in the design, implementation, administration, and support of Hybrid Splunk environments (including Splunk Cloud, Heavy Forwarders, and Universal Forwarders).
  • Experience in data onboarding and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) within Splunk.
  • Ability to ensure data source availability using Universal Forwarders and Heavy Forwarders.
  • Solid knowledge of Syslog and networking protocols.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting Splunk performance issues, including log feeds and field extractions.
  • Capability to coordinate with vendors to resolve potential issues.
  • Expertise in monitoring Splunk infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in project management and customer service.
  • Ability to create clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation for maintaining Splunk infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not mandatory, the following skills will be advantageous:

  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, Perl, Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud services (EC2/S3).
  • Certification in Splunk Cloud Administration.

Additional Skills:

Experience with Linux and Windows systems, along with a solid understanding of system administration, is considered a plus. Other professional certifications will also be beneficial.
